This wine produced by Tramin cellar is one of the best expressions of Pinot Noir produced in Trentino Alto Adige. It praises the denomination Alto Adige DOC and the vintage 2015 is one of the most appreciated of the last decade. “Marjon” is composed by 100% Pinot Noir grapes. Its vineyards are cultivated on hills between 350-650 meters elevation, where the soils are mainly characterized by clay and limestone. The plants are subjected to a strong thermal excursion, influenced from one side by the see and from the other by the mountains. Marjon takes its name from a stripe of limestone rubbles located above the vineyards, that are able to produce 55 hl per hectare. The manual harvest is followed by soft pressing and elimination of stalks. 4 days cool maceration, followed by 15 days fermentation. After 3 days rest in concrete containers, the wine is poured into “pieces” (oak containers of 228 l). 11 months aging followed by a further maturation in the bottle.
