The Il Pumo line of the San Marzano winery represents the immediateness and the extraordinary balance that is possible to reach with the wines from Salento. The Negroamaro is the most renowned red wine of this area that can express it-self very deeply with freshness with rich red fruits aromas and Mediterranean hints. This wine has the IGP certification and the red color of this wine is due to the Negroamaro grapes. The density is 4500 trees per hectare and the production area is the San Marzano hamlet in Salento in Puglia. The soils are located at 100 meters above the sea level and they are clay not very deep with stones. The grape harvest takes place in the second half of September and there is a thermo-controlled maceration for 10 days followed by an alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts. The refinement takes place in steel. The Negroamaro Salento IGP keeps its organoleptic characteristics for 5 years.
