Our catalogue offers a wide selection of Pignolo wines born from the cultivation of historical red grape varieties located in the Colli Orientali del Friuli. In these areas, and more precisely in the hills of Rosazzo, Albana, Prepotto and Premariacco, a terroir of mineral composition and a good temperature range allow to give these Friuli wines elegant, balanced and vigorous characteristics. The first evidence of cultivation in these territories is attested around the twelfth century, when the Pignolo wine was donated as a tribute to prominent personalities visiting the cities. At the beginning of the twentieth century phylloxera seemed to have irremediably affected this production, but a great work of recovery of the local winemakers allowed to find a row at the Abbey of Rosazzo to ensure its survival to the present day.
