Giorgi Winery produces a prestigious wine Barbera DOC in the area of Oltrepò Pavese. This wine is composed by 100% Barbera. The winery gives around 90 quintals per hectare. The grapes are selected manually during the second decade of September. The wine making starts with soft pressing and elimination of stalks, followed by fermentation and maceration in steel containers at a controlled temperature of 28-30°C, for 8-10 days. A complete malolactic fermentation is planned before the aging, managed at controlled temperature in steel for 6 months. The foam formation is the result of a second fermentation in autoclave.
Features of red wine "Barbera DOC"
The organoleptic exam shows a ruby red colour full of purple reflection. The perfume is intense and elegant, with hints of cherry and wild berries. Its taste is dry, enchanting, persistent and underlined by a good tannin.
