This Friuli red wine from Castello di Spessa Winery is made from grapes grown in the vineyards of Capriva del Friuli, on soils composed of marl and sandstone. After harvesting at the end of August, fermentation takes place at 25°C in oak, with daily punching-down for about 15-20 days during which malolactic fermentation also takes place. The product then goes into barriques for 12 months, after which it is bottled without filtration and then further refined in the bottle for a few months.
Characteristics of this Friulian wine
On organoleptic examination it has an intense ruby red colour. The olfactory notes are reminiscent of red fruits and spices as well as on the palate, where it is velvety and has a long finish.
