The history of the Contini Family has been intertwined with viticulture since 1898, when the founder Salvatore Contini began to devote his soul and body to the production of Vernaccia and other Sardinian wines and their enhancement: It was thanks to the commitment and dedication of Salvatore Contini that Vernaccia became the first wine in Sardinia to obtain the denomination of controlled origin. The estates of the Contini family amount to about 100 hectares divided between Penisola del Sinis, Pendici del Monte Arci and Valle del Tirso. Just near the latter, is produced the Vermentino di Sardegna Tyrsos, the name of the river that flows through the Sardinian region. At the end of the harvest the bunches are subjected to a soft crushing and then fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and then refine for a few months in steel tanks and cement vitrified for a few months.
