The history of the Contini Family has been intertwined with viticulture since 1898, when the founder Salvatore Contini began to devote his soul and body to the production of Sardinian wines and their enhancement: For example, it was thanks to its commitment and dedication that Vernaccia became the first wine in Sardinia to obtain the denomination of controlled origin. The estates of the Contini family amount to about 100 hectares divided between Penisola del Sinis, Valle del Tirso and Pendici del Monte Arci. It is right near the latter that the "Pariglia" is produced, with Vermentino grapes cultivated on soils of volcanic origin. Its name indicates once again the great importance that the Contini family attaches to local traditions: during the Sartiglia in fact, the famous Sardinian equestrian joust, takes place the spectacular horse race of Pariglie. After the harvest, which takes place within the first half of September, crushing and fermentation in steel tanks follow. Finally, aging in steel and bottle for a few months.
