A wonderful Tuscany wine produced by the refined and prestigious Banfi winery. The production area is located at the south of Montalcino. The cultivation areas of the Sangiovese is located at 250 meters above the sea level, the Cabernet Sauvignon’s at 130 meters and finally the Syrah’s at 120 meters. The soils are yellow-brown colored, sandy with a presence of limestone. The blend is made with 40% of Sangiovese, 35% of Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% of Syrah grapes. The cultivation method is the cordon spur pruning. The density is 4100 trees per hectare and the profit is 65 quintals. This fantastic Banfi wine is produced only in the best years and the different varieties that compose this wine are vinified separately in steel or in Horizon wood tanks under temperature control with maceration of 10-18 days. After the alcoholic fermentation the wines are poured in barrels for 12 months. Then the blend is composed and it keeps macerating for 8-10 months. It follows a bottle refinement for 6 months.
