Wine description

Franz Haas Pinot Noir originates from vineyards located between approximately 350 and 900 meters above sea level, distributed across various hilly areas of South Tyrol, characterized by a wide variety of soils. The vineyards are planted at high density and selected with low-yield clones, thus obtaining grapes of high quality and consistent over time. Winemaking takes place in open vats, where the must ferments in contact with the skins through frequent refilling and fulling, promoting the extraction of color, aromas, and structure. Once fermentation is complete, the wine ripens for about a year in barriques, followed by further aging in the bottle before being put on the market.

Characteristics of this South Tyrolean wine

It appears with a color that varies from light ruby red to the most intense, depending on the year. The bouquet is elegant and complex, with notes of black cherry, raspberry, morello cherry, and small red fruits, enriched with spicy nuances such as cloves and cinnamon, and a delicate call of undergrowth and marzipan. In the mouth it is fresh and dynamic, with a fine and elegant tannic texture that gives balance and flow. The sip is harmonious, round and very drinkable, supported by a good acidity that lengthens its persistence and makes it particularly gastronomic

Recommended pairings with this Franz Haas red wine

It pairs very well with structured but delicate fish dishes, white meats, light roasts and not too elaborate red meats, as well as fine-tasting game and medium-aged cheeses. The ideal serving temperature is between 16 and 18°C, which allows you to best enhance the balance between freshness, aromatic fineness and tannic structure.
