The Müller Thurgau DOC wine of the Terlano Winery is honored by the DOC Alto Adige certification. It is produced with 100% Müller Thurgau grapes. This product has to represent the tradition from Trentino in Europe and in the world wide. The Müller Thurgau vine has found in Terlano a good territory. It is cultivated on very steep slopes at 900 meters above the sea level. The wine obtained are remarkable for the elegance and typicality with the characteristic aroma of peach and nutmeg. There is a manual picking of the grapes and it follows a delicate pressing of the entire bunch and the racking off made by natural sedimentation. The slow fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks under temperature control. Finally the aging period lasts 5-7 months on fine yeasts in steel barrels. The production area is Terlano. The soils are located at 300-900 meters above the sea level with a slope of 35% located at South, south-west.
Characteristics of the Muller Thurgau DOC wine
It has a light straw yellow color which is the classical color for this wine. The perfume has white pepper, nutmeg and ripen peach aromas which give to this wine harmony and a pleasant aromatic bouquet. Finally the nutmeg of the taste makes the taste aromatic with a remarkable acidity which gives it refinement and elegance.
Suggested pairings with this wine from Trentino
The main match is with appetizers, with swordfish carpaccio, but also with the lake fish and the steam fish. It is perfect with trout with boiled potatoes or with bass en papillote. It is very good also with boiled meat with a celery and fresh Alpine hut cheese mash tun. It has to be served at 10°-12°C.
