Lagrein "Vigna Steinraffler" Hofstätter is made exclusively from Lagrein grapes grown on the slopes of the Steinraffler vineyard, from which it takes its name. After a selection and a manual harvest the grapes are destemmed, then after a quick maceration ferment in contact with the skins for about 10 days. The aging takes place first in barrique for 15 months and then in tonneaux for another 7. Ends the aging in bottle for a period of at least 1 year.
Characteristics of this red wine
In the glass it has a deep and dark garnet red color. The nose slowly reveals its distinctly fruity bouquet, with a mineral and slightly earthy hint in the background. The palate is rich and concentrated, fruity and savory character of good and pleasant persistence.
