Barolo Chinato, by Cantina Salvano winery, is an important and robust aromatized red wine. It is obtained by adding to the base of Barolo a sweet infusion of various herbs like Chincona calisaya (in Italian is called china, hence the wine's name chinato), gentian and many others. This infusion undergoes maceration with alcohol for 30 days in order to extract the aromatic components.
Characteristics of Barolo Chinato wine
It presents a deep garnet red colour with soft orange reflections. Intense and balanced bouquet: it is possible to distinguish the scent of the various herbs. Soft in taste with a pleasant balance. Barolo Chinato presents a particular bittersweet taste that allows it to be perfect at the end of the meal and it’s a perfect wine for meditation.
