Wine list | Valpolicella Classico Superiore |
This label of Costa Arènte winery takes its name from the territory in which it is originated, Valpolicella in particular, that is that valley that extends for 240 Km and that includes seven municipalities, all in the province of Verona. The grapes are grown in the hilly vineyards of Valpantena, on soils rich in mineral and clay elements; after the manual harvest of the first half of October is carried out the destemming phase as well as a careful selection of berries: then the pressing and fermentation at a controlled temperature for a week with the next phase of maceration on the skins. It then starts the malolactic steel and a 20/30% of the mass faces the passage in French oak barrels. The process ends with the aging in steel for one year and in bottle for 3 months.
Features of this Valpolicella Classico Superiore
On organoleptic examination it has a ruby red color, with olfactory notes that immediately recall cherry and spices. On the palate the tannins are conspicuous but soft and the finish is persistent.
