Documented in Trentino Alto Adige since 1370, Lagrein is one of the most appreciated native variety of the region. It is a hybrid that comes from the natural joining of Teroldego and another native variety, genetically linked to Syrah. Its favourite climate is the warm one of the area of Bolzano, where the lands are full of sands, gravel and porphyry. 100% Lagrein for wine making. The grapes come from selected vineyards in the zone of Bolzano that are located at 230-300 meters on the sea level. The soil has alluvial origin and are mainly composed by sand and limestone. After the traditional wine making, a period of 12 months of aging in steel or concrete containers is planned, characterized by malolactic fermentation. This Lagrein has a deep, dynamic red colour. Its harmony has interesting hints of fruits that make him perfect for a special dinner.
