Wine list | Rosso Veronese |
It is a red wine of extreme elegance and balance, with an excellent structure, suitable for long aging, like other great long-lived wines of Valpolicella. It comes from a particularly dedicated vineyard, in the Costalunga estate. The blend is 100% made from Corvina Veronese vinified in purity. The geographical position of the land lies in the territory of Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, Costalunga estate in a hilly area. The average altitude above sea level is between 300 and 350 meters with southern exposure. The type of land is mainly characterized by calcareous moraine, rich in skeleton and with the presence of clay. The breeding system is the classic Guyot system with a density of 5,000 vines per hectare. The average age of the vines is 10 years and the profit reaches 65 quintals per hectare of land. The harvesting period takes into account a slight surmaturation in the plant, and usually takes place in the second half of October. Vinification requires that the grapes, after harvesting, are de-stemmed and crushed. A slow fermentation follows in contact with the lees for about 15 days at a controlled temperature of 25-26 ° C. Subsequently the aging lasts 24 months in French oak tonneaux. It follows a long aging in bottle for at least a year.
Characteristics of the Cresasso Corvina Veronese
The wine has a deep ruby red color. The scent is represented by an enveloping olfactory spectrum with pleasant notes of red fruit, black cherry, blackberry and plum. The taste is a rich corvina, sapid and mineral with thick tannins that give it a pleasantly long finish.
