Wine list | Valtellina Superiore |
In this version, this wine takes its name by the territory of provenience. The “costa bassa” (low coast) starts from the lower part of the valley to reach about 450 meters on the sea level. Here the climatic conditions make the peels of the grapes thinner, the result is low sourness and soft tannins. In this zone arise our basic wine, simple expression of Chiavennasca. It is produced as the tradition wants with 100% Nebbiolo. This wine of Sandro Fay doesn’t have anything special, as it only expresses the territory “costa bassa”, that gives him the name. For this version, the aging in big wooden barrels lasts for 12 months and allow the readiness of this “Nebbiolo of Valtellina” since the first day.
