This wonderful White wine of the Meroi winery is made with different grapes cultivated in the east hills of Friuli in the Buttrio hamlet in the Udine province. This wine since 1990 is honored by the DOC certification. The grapes used are Pinot Grigio at 50% Chardonnay at 40% and Sauvignon for the remaining 10%. The cultivation is extended for 2,5 hectares and they are exposed at south, south-east at 90-120 meters above the sea level. The cultivation is organic and the soil is marl which is similar to the French territory so it is perfect to be cultivated with the French Guyot method. The manual grape harvest takes place at the beginning of September. There is a soft pressing of the grapes and a day to rest. The fermentation takes place in barrels, under temperature control, for 20 days. It is added some yeasts and it takes place the malolactic fermentation only if spontaneous. The refinement lasts 9 months in wooden barrels. Before the bottling there is a light filtering which guarantees clearness and brightness to the wine.
