Syrah Autentici di Sicilia DUCA DI SALAPARUTA

The Syrah "Calanìca" from the Sicilian winery Duca di Salaparuta is made up with Syrah grapes in purity from the vineyards located in the western part of the island at about 200m a.s.l. Immediately after the harvest, which takes place in the second half of September, the must stays in contact with the skins for a short period. Before being bottled it rests for a few months in steel on its own yeasts and after bottling it spends a month in a temperature-conditioned cellar to ensure that the characteristic bouquet develops.

Characteristics of this Sicilian wine

On the organoleptic examination this Sicilian wine shows a brilliant ruby red color, while the olfactory notes refer to delicate aromas of red fruits and herbaceous and peppery hints. On the palate it is balanced, with a savory, fresh sip and a graceful tannin.

Suggested food pairings while tasting this Sicilian wine

Excellent with meat-based dishes, even structured ones, and with aged cheeses. To be served at a temperature of 15-17°C in a not very large glass.
