This fantastic wine is the result of the union between tradition and innovation. A blend composed by Refosco Dal Peduncolo Rosso, Merlot and Pignolo that praises the DOC denomination “Friuli Colli Orientali Rosazzo Rosso”. The vineyards are trained with Guyot method on lands characterized by marls and sandstones of Eocenic origin. This wine was born in 1989 and takes its name by the small river Sossò, that flows down the hill where the oldest vineyards of Rosazzo are planted. It is the result of an accurate technique; the aging lasts for 18 months and it is managed in small barrels. This gives to the wine complexity, structure, elegant tannins and fruity hints. The wine-making considers the elimination of stalks and a period of maceration in steel at controlled temperature. Frequent batonnages help the extractions of the aromas and of the colour. Once the varieties are assembled, the maturation is managed in French oak barrels for 18 months. After the bottling, the wine rests in thermo-conditioned rooms for other 18 months.
