100% Nebbiolo grapes, dried. The vineyards are located in the area Valtellina Superiore DOCG Sassella e Grumello. The manual harvest starts in the first decade of October. During this phase, the selected bunches of the area of Grumello and Sassella are placed in boxes of 4-5 kg and dried naturally till the 20th of January. During a second selection, the mouldy grapes are immediately eliminated. After the soft pressing, the grapes are poured into inox tanks where the alcoholic fermentation starts. The maceration on skins at 25° lasts 21 days. The malolactic fermentation is managed in oak barrels, where the wine ages 20 months. The maturation continues in the bottle for 10 months.
Features of this red wine from Valtellina-Lombardy
Dark garnet red colour with orange reflections. Its is wide and spicy, recalling alcohol infused fruits, raisins and dried roses. The taste is warm, full-bodied and elegant.
