This label requires the use of fine grapes from the Schiava Meranese vine only. Schiava Meranese is the oldest native red grape variety in South Tyrol and enjoys great fame especially in the Merano area. For the vinification, the traditional fermentation of red wine at a controlled temperature in a large stainless steel tank, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in large oak barrels for 5 months.
Schiava Meraner Vernatsch Festival DOC’s features
A ruby red colour. The scent in the bouquet fades notes of violets and red fruits. The taste has a delicate, softly tannic flavor, with a harmonious aftertaste and a refreshing acidity.
