This “Calanìca” Frappato from the Sicilian Winery Duca di Salaparuta is produced with 100% Frappato grapes grown in the vineyards located in the central-southern part of the island, on soils of mixed limestone-siliceous composition. At the end of the harvest in the second half of September, the grapes are subjected to cryomaceration in order to favor the extraction of aromas and colors; the fermentation phase is thus carried out in steel vats at a controlled temperature; before being bottled, the wine remains in steel to mature for a few months.
Characteristics of this Sicilian wine
To the organoleptic examination it presents itself as a wine with a brilliant ruby red color; on the nose there are floral scents such as violet, and fruity aromas of red berried fruits. In the mouth it is young and fresh with a nice juicy and crunchy note on the finish.

It is a very versatile wine, perfect with cold cuts, stewed white meats and fresh cheeses. Try it with pizza too. To be served at a temperature of 10-12 ° C in a not very large glass.
