Vinified purely from 100% Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grapes, this is a refined red wine that originates from 12-30 year old vines located on Eocene marl soils with a limestone base. Following the harvest, the grapes are carefully selected and then destemmed, crushed and placed in temperature-controlled steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place. During the fermentation phase, which lasts 15-18 days, pumping over is carried out daily, followed by brief decantation and malolactic fermentation. Once the filtration phase has also taken place, the wine is then bottled and refined for a short period in the bottle.
Characteristics of Refosco wine
The organoleptic examination shows a ruby red colour with violet hues, while the olfactory notes evoke red fruits such as blackberry and plum. On the palate, there is a dense tannic texture that is interwoven with hints of spices and tobacco.
