Wine description
Produced from pure Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grapes, this Friulian red wine from Zorzettig Winery comes from the estate's vineyards in Spessa, near Udine. After harvesting, the grapes are pressed, destemmed and then macerated for 15 days, with fermentation in steel. Ageing takes place in barriques for 12 months.
Characteristics of this Friulian wine
It has an intense ruby red colour with violet hues. The olfactory notes are reminiscent of blackberry, black cherry and cherry while the palate is complex but well structured, with a firm but soft tannic texture.
Recommended pairings with this Friulian red wine
Try it with red meat, savoury cold cuts, mature cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C.
