Wine description

“Sande” is one of the most iconic and rare wines from the Fasoli Gino winery and represents one of the greatest expressions of Pinot Noir in the Verona area. It is born from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from a historic vineyard cultivated with very low yields, located on slightly sloping clay and limestone soils, a characteristic that contributes to the aromatic concentration of the grapes. The production is extremely accurate and follows a traditional and lengthy process. The harvest is manual and takes place between the end of August and the beginning of September. After harvesting, the grapes are subjected to a period of wilting which further concentrates their sugars and aromatic substances. Fermentation takes place in conical oak barrels with maceration on the skins and manual fulling for approximately 15 days. Subsequently, the wine ages in barriques for a very long period, up to 36–48 months, depending on the vintage, before further evolution in the bottle.

Characteristics of this wine from the Veneto

On organoleptic examination it appears with an intense and deep ruby red color. The bouquet is complex and rich, with notes of ripe red fruit, cherry in spirit, sweet spices, cocoa and light toasted nuances. On the palate it is powerful, structured and at the same time elegant, with fine and persistent tannins, good freshness and a long and harmonious finish.

Recommended pairings with this red wine from Fasoli Gino

It pairs perfectly with important dishes such as red meats, braised meats, game and aged cheeses. It is also ideal as a meditation wine due to its complexity and aromatic depth. The recommended service temperature is approximately 17–18 °C.
