Wine list | Nero d'Avola |
This Nero d'Avola from the Sicilian winery Tasca d'Almerita comes from 100% Nero d'Avola grapes grown on the Pernice estate in Monreale, near Palermo. It is a red wine characterized by a high quality harvest given by low yields: the alcoholic fermentation in red takes place at a temperature of 28 ° C and is followed by about twenty days of maceration in contact with the skins. Refinement takes place for 30% of the mass in French oak on the second and third passage for a period of 12 months. The remaining 70% is instead subjected to refinement in steel.
Characteristics of this Sicilian wine
On the organoleptic examination it is characterized by a very intense ruby red color with olfactory notes that evoke red fruits, spices and hints of licorice. On the palate, however, it is fruity and with well-defined tannins
