This red wine of the Sicilian tradition made by the Mandrarossa winery is quite particular because it has a mineral and drinkable taste which is the result of a calcareous soil for the cultivation that reflects the sun light which is an ideal condition for the cultivation of the grape. The territory is located in the Cavadiserpe area in Menfi in the Agrigento province. The wine is made by 60% of Alicante Bouschet grapes and 40% of Merlot grapes. It has a “Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT” certification. The profit is around 90 quintals per hectare and the density is 4500 units per hectare. The soils are located at 150-250 meters above the sea level and the exposition is in the South. The wine making process starts with the maceration for 8-10 days at 22-25°C. It follows a period of 6 months of maturation in barrels and further 3 months in bottle.

It has an intense ruby red color with deep purple reflections. The smell has prune and plum aromas together with aromatic herbs and spicy hints of thyme and licorice. The taste is structured, intense and harmonic with a perfect union between the tannins and the wood aromas.
