Wine list | Lagrein |
This fabulous wine by Manincor is produced with 100% Lagrein grapes, cultivated for 2/3 in Rubatsch vineyard in Terlano. The remaining part comes from Seehof, near Caldaro lake. Rubatsch is a hill with a south exposition, located 250 meters above the sea level, where the composition of the soil is mainly characterized by sands and grabble. On the other hand, Seehof is exposed to south-east, with the same elevation but different composition of the lands. Here sands, clay and limestone dominate. Rubatsch gives class and elegance, while Seehof preserves structure and power. Each part of the vineyard is reworked separately. The spontaneous fermentation is managed in wooden barrels. The maceration lasts 2 weeks, while the aging on lees, managed in barriques, lasts 14 months (10% of the barrels is new). The wine is the result of the selection of the best barrels.
Features of the Lagrein "Rubatsch" wine
The organoleptic exam shows a dark purple red colour, enriched by scents that recall red fruits, mature plums, elder syrup and liquorice. The taste is characterized by vigorous tannins that are silky and smooth in the mouth.
