100% Verdicchio, cultivated on the hills of Castelli di Jesi. The vineyard are over 45 years old and the elevation of the land swings between 250-300 meters above the sea level, on the top of a hill with a eastern exposition. The deep soil is characterized by clay and due to its features, it is perfect for the production of high-quality wines. 60-70 quintals per hectare. The manual harvest is planned between the end of September and the first decade of October, when the grapes reach the right balance between acidity and sugar. After soft pressing, the juice is cooled and subjected to static decanting. The fermentation is managed in inox for 10-15 days at 17°C. The aging on lees, managed in concrete containers, lasts 10 months. Vecchie Vigne rests in the bottle for other 6 months before the selling.
Features of the Verdicchio "Vecchie Vigne" DOC wine from Marche
The organoleptic analysis shows a deep straw yellow colour full of green reflections. The scent is wide, recalling broom, chamomile, pear, wild mint, sage and hazelnuts. The taste hits for its elegance. Dry but fresh, its acidity represents the perfect marriage for the structure that characterizes this wine. Salty final.
