SYRAH PER SEMPRE TUA RITA

“Syrah per Sempre” by TUA RITA praises the denomination IGT Toscana Rosso. It is produced in “Alta Maremma”, near the “Colline Metallifere” with 100% Syrah. The plants are trained with Cordon-spur pruning method. The average density of the vineyard reaches 8500 stumps per hectare. The soil is characterized by clay and loam. Tua Rita cellar follows the rules of the Biological cultivation and produces 3000 bottles of this wine every year. The harvest is organized manually in plastic boxes of 15 kg. 22 months aging in barriques of French oak of first passage. After the bottling, in summer, the wine rests in the bottle for some months before the selling. People who asked Virgilio, founder of the cellar with his wife Rita, which wines were his favourite, he answered without hesitation: “Syrah, per sempre” (Syrah, forever). This wine, with its low production quantity, is the result of the stubbornness of Virgilio and of his wife, who wanted next to the traditional varieties, some vineyards of Syrah: he took care personally of the plants, trying to understand its capacity of adapting to the territories of Tuscany. He waited till the right moment, when the plants were able to produce independently. After 18 months aging in barriques, the organoleptic evolution was fabulous. The opinion of Virgilio was immediately confirmed by the press and by the market. The label is dedicated to the man who founded the company. The same person who transmitted to the people who worked with him the love and the respect for the lands joined to the continuous research of quality…FOREVER!

Features of “Syrah Per Sempre” produced by TUA RITA

Intense ruby red colour tending to garnet. Its scent is full of red fruits, vanilla, black pepper and liquorice. The taste is soft, with silky tannins and great, elegant persistence. Its final is dominated by liquorice.

This wine is perfect with red meat, game and aged cheeses. It has to be served at 18°C in a wide wine glass.
