Description du vin

The name of this wine comes from a family that owned some lands of the territory in the past. The grapes are cultivated in Magrè, where the micro-climate is characterized by warm days and fresh evenings, due to the presence of the mountains that surround them. The soils, full of pebbles and rocks offer a perfect habitat to this vine variety. For the wine making, Lageder uses 100% Pinot Grigio. The cultivation method is set on biological, dynamic agriculture, certified Demeter. The selected vineyards are located in the alluvial territory of Magrè, where the elevation reaches 230-240 meters on the sea level ant the soils are composed mainly by sands, stones and a lot of limestone. The age of the plants is 29 years old, maximum and that is the reason why they are considered really young. The harvest lasts for one month, in September, followed by spontaneous fermentation that for this wine is managed in two different containers: wood and steel. The aging lasts at least 9 months in the same containers used for fermentation.

 

Features of this Pinot Grigio Alois Lageder

 The organoleptic exam reveals a straw yellow colour with light shades that recalls red. The perfume is rich of discrete aromas and its particular bouquet, fruity, with hints of melon, yellow peach, spicy and mineral, give this wine its tone. The taste is structured but dynamic, fresh, fruity, dry. It becomes better with 2-6 years maximum of aging.

 

Recommended food pairings while tasting Pinot Grigio PORER

This wine produced by Lageder is perfect with a lot of starters, pate, ham or cold cuts, fish, crustaceans, white meats, poultry. It has to be served at 10° C in a high, wide wine glass in order to spread its scents.
