Pinot Grigio also known as Pinot Gris or Grauburgunder is the most cultivated variety in Trentino Alto Adige. In the vineyards Magrè and Salorno, characterized by Mediterranean climate, the land are rich of limestone, sands and pebbles. This is the perfect habitat for Pinot varieties. The single variety winemaking uses only grapes coming from the selected vineyards near Magrè and Salorno, situated at 230-420 meters on the sea level. The lands here are rich of sands, pebbles and limestone. The age of the vineyards can reach also 63 years old, the harvest in in September and lasts the whole month. After that the grapes are treated with soft pressing process, followed by fermentation at controlled temperature. The aging lasts for 4 months. During that period, the wine rests on its yeasts.
Features of Pinot Grigio
The organoleptic aspect is shiny and clear. The colour is straw yellow with some gold shades. Its perfume is characterized by fruity aromas, spread with intensity: peach, melon, exotic spices, mineral hints. The taste is quite structured, intense, dry, fresh, fruity and spicy.
The evolution of this wine can continue in the bottle also for 5 years.
