This “Passito” is suitable for every happening. It was created for the 60th anniversary of the wedding of Giuseppe Tasca and his wife Franca. Something special, characterized by candied orange, yellow rose and orange blossom honey. It is a blend composed by Moscato and Traminer grapes, cultivated in the highest vineyards of the estate. After the harvest, they are left drying in the shade in order to preserve their sourness. This wine is soft and fresh at the same time. It is produced with 50% Traminer and 50% Moscato, cultivated in Regaleali, in the heart of Sicily. 1994 Giuseppe Tasca celebrated his 60 years wedding with two wines “Nozze d’Oro” and “Diamante”. The cultivation of sweet wines was typical of the coast and they were characterized by a great structure, that sometimes seemed a little bit excessive. Considering this, the main goal became to give elegance to these products by producing them on the hills. This required efforts. The first productions weren’t launched on the market, they were drunk by the families during the important happenings. The first bottles of “Sicilia Passito IGT Diamante” produced by Tasca d’ Almerita were sold only in 2003. A sweet and enchanting wine that recalls white flowers, candied orange, yellow rose and orange blossom. A perfect marriage between sourness and sweetness.
