The "Nerio" comes from Negroamaro grapes and a small part of black Malvasia cultivated as a sapling in Nardò, in the province of Lecce, from vines of 50 years. The grapes are harvested by hand and gently stored in small aerated boxes to preserve their integrity. In the cellar they are then further selected on a modern sorting table. After fermentation the wine rests 8 months in tonneaux with medium roasting; then another 6 months of further aging in bottle.
Characteristics of this wine from Cantina Schola Sarmenti
The wine has an intense ruby red color with spicy aromas of tobacco and leather in a well-marked fruit finish. In the mouth it enters with a softness and a very pleasant fruit.
