The “Greco”, according to Aristotle came from Tessaglia. Cato, Varro and Virgil praised the prestigious of this grape by distinguished it into five clones and the most famous is the "Aminea Gemina Maior" by which this wine is made of. It is produced with 100% clone Greco grapes. The production area is the DOC Camarda located at 200 meters above the sea level. The vineyards are cultivated on calcareous-sandy soil which is suitable for the cultivation of the Greco grapes by using the vertical-trellised method. The harvest starts at the end of October which is quite late. The wine making process preview the fermentation in steel tanks according to the thermo-control system at 16°C. There is a cold maceration and it follows the contact between must and peels with a soft pressing. There is no malolactic fermentation.
