Cannonau di Sardegna DOC “Pani Loriga” from Cantina Santadi is made from Cannonau grapes grown in the lower Sulcis area on sandy soils mixed with granite decay. The vineyards are raised espalier in an area strongly influenced by the Mediterranean climate and the proximity of the sea. The harvest is carried out manually in September: alcoholic fermentation follows, taking place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about fifteen days, with maceration on the skins and frequent reassembling to promote the extraction of aromatic and polyphenolic substances. The wine then ages for a few months in concrete tanks before bottling.
Characteristics of this Sardinian wine
In the glass it has a deep ruby red color. On the nose it expresses fragrant scents of crunchy red fruit, plum and small fruits, accompanied by light floral, herbaceous and spicy notes. In the mouth it is silky, elegant and flowing, with soft tannins and a pleasant freshness at the end.
