The Bardolino of Zenato is produced on the south-east side of the Garda Lake between Bardolino and Peschiera. It is made with three grapes the Corvina, the Rondinella and the Molinara. The soils are located at 100-150 meters above the sea level and the soil is moraine with lime and stones. The cultivation method is the arbor or the Guyot and the density is between 2700 to 3000 trees per hectare with a profit of 120 quintals. The grape harvest takes place at the end of September the beginning of October. The grapes are destemmed and pressed and they ferment for 10 days in steel tanks at 26°C. After the alcoholic fermentation the peels are removed with a soft pressing.
Characteristics of the Bardolino DOC
It has a ruby red color. The smell has cherry and violet aromas very delicate. The taste is dry, sapid with almond aromas and harmony.
Suggested pairings with this wine of the Zenato winery
It is a traditional wine from Veneto perfect for white meats and not very aged cheeses. It must be served at 16°C in a high and wide wine glass.
