This sensational Barbera d'Alba is produced by the Ratti winery from the 100% Barbera grapes grown in the company’s own wineries, which contains all the salient characteristics of the territory of origin. The harvest for the grapes is expected at the end of September beginning of October with the right degree of ripeness. The vinification involves a destemming - preventive crushing and a subsequent alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of about 28-30ºC in stainless steel tanks; the average duration of the maceration of the grapes on the must extends for about 7-10 days. Finally the aging of some months.
Characteristics of this Barbera d'Alba
On the organoleptic test it is presented as a wine with a very intense cardinal red aspect and a brilliant hue. The scent is firm, with hints of ripe and dry plum on a spicy background. The taste is full and long-lasting.
