This Toscana Rosso "Peperino" from Teruzzi winery is produced with 60% Sangiovese and 40% Merlot grapes grown in the Casetta vineyards near Siena. After the harvest, the grapes are destemme then alcoholic fermentation happens: maceration takes place in steel at a controlled temperature of 28°C and precedes the racking phase. The refinement requires a stay of 12 months partly in steel and partly in French oak barriques: a further refinement of 6 months is also required.
Characteristics of this Tuscan red wine
To the organoleptic examination it shows a ruby red color, with the characteristic olfactory notes of fruit and wood: on the palate it is decisive and full-bodied, with well-structured tannins and a good persistence.
