Wine list | Lagrein |
This is the brother of the renowned Lagrein Rosso DOC but it differs from it by the wine making process method. Also this wine has the DOC certification of the Südtirol-Alto Adige. The cultivation area are the Ora, the Egna and the Termeno territories which give aromatic, elegant and very fresh products. Here the red berries profit of the rare autumnal sun hours which makes the wines very fruity and pleasant that since the beginning show the peculiarity of the vine variety. This wine is produced 100% Lagrein cultivated on clay and pebbly soils with a profit of 75 hectoliters. There is a first period where the grapes are in contact with the peels and then are softly pressed. Then the must has to ferment in stainless steels tanks at 22°C. Finally the malolactic fermentation is partially carried out.
Characteristics of the Lagrein Rosè DOC
It can be aged until 2-3 years. This wine has a rosé color tending to a more clear, bright and limpid ruby red one. The scent is delicate and pleasant with currant and floral hints. The taste is fresh and rightly tannic.
Suggested pairings with this great Rosé wine
With the rosé Lagrein DOC Tramin are preferable flavored starters such as the fumé fish or grilled white and red meats. Normally it is perfect with all the Italian tradition courses which are not really structured. It has to be served at 14°C in wide tulip wine glasses.
