The orgins of the name Lacryma Christi dates back to the past. An ancient myth tells that some vineyards were originated by the crying Christ after the fall of Lucifer in the hell. However, this christian version is only one between the multiple pagan legends. We are sure that the white version derives from Caprettone, a variety that is similar to Coda di Volpe that grows near Vesuvio volcan. This wine is produced with 100% Caprettone grapes, cultivated in selected areas in the district of Neaples. The harvest starts in the last two weeks of September and continues till the beginning of October. Fermentation at controlled temperature and cooled maceration last 12 days. The aging is developed in inox for two months and continues in the bottle for at least 1 month.
Features of Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Bianco from Campania

Recommended food pairings while tasting this white wine produced by Montesole
It is excellent with mussels, fish starters, light dishes and grilled prawns. It has to be served at 12°C in a high, wide wine glass that helps the diffusion of the perfumes.
