Grillo di Feudo Arancio originates in the Acate area, in the province of Ragusa, in a context characterized by sandy and heavily sunny soils, ideal conditions for this native Sicilian grape, historically also linked to the production of Marsala. The grapes, harvested around the second week of September, are subjected to crushing and pressing in the total absence of oxygen, according to the reduction winemaking technique, essential for preserving freshness and primary aromas. After the natural decantation of the must, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature for a few days. The wine then continues its maturation on the steel yeasts, with periodic mixing of the fine lees, a practice that helps increase the structure and complexity without losing the typical varietal fragrance.
Characteristics of this Grillo Feudo Arancio
In the calyx it has a deep straw yellow colour. On the nose it expresses an intense and immediately recognizable aromatic profile, dominated by tropical notes of mango and papaya, accompanied by elegant floral notes of jasmine and white flowers. In the mouth it stands out for balance and harmony, with a soft structure supported by a delicate acidity that gives freshness and momentum to the sip. The persistence is good and consistent with the aromatic profile, returning a pleasant, clear and typically Mediterranean wine.
Recommended pairings with this Sicilian white wine
It is an extremely versatile wine, ideal in combination with fish-based dishes, seafood and first courses with vegetables, but it also expresses itself well with white meats and light preparations of summer cuisine. Thanks to its aromaticity, it can also accompany more original dishes such as carpaccio or sweet and sour combinations. The recommended serving temperature is between 10 and 12 °C, ideal for enhancing its freshness and aromatic expression.
