Chardonnay DOC TUNELLA

This white wine from Cantina Tunella is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown on the rolling hills of Eastern Friuli. The grapes are harvested by hand during the harvest in the first week of September, once they have reached optimal ripeness. This is followed by gentle pressing, and the resulting must is cold-settled before being mixed with yeast to initiate fermentation. Fermentation lasts for 30–40 days at a temperature of 16°C; this is followed by ageing with a series of bâtonnages to produce a complex, structured wine.

Characteristics of this Chardonnay from Friuli-Venezia Giulia

It has a straw-yellow colour. The bouquet is fragrant and fruity, with hints of ripe tropical fruits, pineapple and flowers. On the palate, it is elegant and pleasantly fresh.

Recommended pairings for this wine from the Tunella winery

Excellent as an aperitif, with fish-based starters, soups, and egg and fish dishes. Serve at a temperature of 8–10°C.
