From the vinification of grapes in a blend of 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Merlot. The origin is the classic one of the Bolgheri area from vineyards cultivated in the Tenuta di Campo al Mare of our property. The vinification involves the maceration of about 30 days at a temperature of 28ºC. the aging takes place in French oak barrels of 500 liters, half new and half a year, for about 16-18 months. The aging takes place in bottle at least 12 months.
Characteristics of this Tuscan wine
The aspect of the wine is purple red, lively and deep. The nose is powerful with complex descriptive notes of vanilla with aromatic herbs, rosemary, sage, basil. Notes of antique woods and beeswax. The mouthfeel is elegant, clean, austere with silky and sweet tannins, pleasantly bitter with cocoa and chocolate. Long, leaves memories of blackberry and currant, sharp in the closing.
Serving suggestions tasting Bolgheri Superiore Doc
A great wine that needs equally important and generous dishes. We like to imagine it next to a stewed boar with chanterelles and blueberries, served on a polenta of Garfagnana. The optimal serving temperature is 16ºC.
