The Borgogno winery produces this sensational and renowned Barolo Riserva DOCG wine with 100% pure Nebbiolo grapes. The origin of the vineyards lies in the territory of Barolo and the vineyards are in the localities of Liste, Cannubi, Cannubi San Lorenzo, Fossati, San Pietro delle Viole. The vinification requires the fermentation of the grapes harvested only in the great vintages; characterized by very hot and dry summers that allow the prompt recovery of a slight spring vegetative delay. The ripening of the excellent grapes follows; regular fermentation and submerged cap maceration; racking in the last days of November; aging: two years in cement tanks and over three years in large Slavonian oak barrels; bottling in July 1967.
Characteristics of this Barolo Riserva
On the organoleptic examination this great wine shows a light garnet red colour with slight orange hues. The scent on the nose expresses decisive and beautiful citrus notes that anticipate slightly blood, ferrous, cinchona and rhubarb hints. The dry, decisive taste of great elegance. A still defined tannic texture and a certain acidity outline the body, wonderful, up to an impeccable class finish.
