This full-bodied and intense red wine from the Sandrone winery in Piedmont comes from the vineyards of Vezza d'Alba, on sandy soils that enjoy a unique microclimate: the Valmaggiore vineyard is a sort of amphitheatre facing the sun, with rich and lush nature, surrounded by the Roero region. After harvesting pure Nebbiolo grapes, spontaneous fermentation takes place, followed by maceration and alcoholic fermentation in steel. Maturation takes place in 500-litre French oak barrels with final ageing in the bottle for at least 9 months.
Characteristics of this Nebbiolo d'Alba wine
It has a deep garnet red colour and a very intense, floral and fruity bouquet: rose, wild berries and liquorice. On the palate, it is elegant and intense with fine tannins.
Recommended pairings with this Piedmont wine
