Wine list | Montecucco |
Leremo is our Montecucco red wine. It is fresh and structured at the same time. It takes its name from Eremo di San Pellegrino, an old ruin located in our lands, not too far from our headquarters. Eremo was a meditation place surrounded by the nature, where people stopped to find hospitality and to pray. This wine is a blend composed by 65% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot and 5% Ciliegiolo. The vineyards are located in Villa Patrizia, where the lands have a south-west exposition and reach maximum 380 meters elevation. The cordon spur training method generates a production of 60 quintals per hectare. The wine making is developed in steel containers with thermal regulation. The spontaneous fermentation is followed by a slow maceration that lasts around 10 days, depending on the harvest. The aging is managed in steel and in the bottle for at least 3 months.
