This is the youngest DOC OF Tuscany, as its birthdate is placed only in 2011, but its production is increasing because of its positive feedbacks. The style represents perfectly our region. Maremma DOC produced by Barbi is a blend composed by 50% Sangiovese and little percentages of Merlot, Alicante and Cabernet. It is a Mediterranean wine, warm, soft, really perfumed and, at the same time, important, rich and structured. As we said before, it is composed specifically by 50% Sangiovese, 5% Alicante, 30% Merlot and 15% Syrah. To preserve its fruity scents, before the slow wine making set at 28°C, the grapes are cooled at 18°.
