Vietti produces and conserves this sensational Barolo DOCG with 100% Nebbiolo grapes, sub-variety Michet. The grapes are selected from the vineyard “Villero”, that has a south, south-west exposition. It is located in the district of Castiglione Falletto and covers a little less of one hectare. The average age of the plants is 42 years old and the concentration of the cultivation is 4000 plants per hectare. The harvest is planned within the first week of October. The soils are composed by clay, white and blue marls. The fermentation is managed in steel containers at a controlled temperature that swings between 28 and 32°C. 12 days maceration on skins. The wine is then poured in small wooden barrels, where it makes the malolactic fermentation. The aging is developed in big oak barrels (26 hl). No filtrations before the bottling, that is planned in July, at least 3 years after the wine making.
Feature of Barolo Riserva Villero DOCG from Piedmont
Elegant garnet red with faint orange reflections. Its perfume is characterized by macerated rose petals and plums, followed by cola, candied fruits, tobacco, currant, truffle, goudron, liquorice and spices. The taste is austere and classy at the same time. It is juicy, concentrated, full of tannins and of mint. Great persistence.

A prestigious wine that represents the perfect marriage with red meat. Great with sliced “Fassona” dressed with aromatic herbs. It has to be served at 20°C.
