MARCHESI DI BAROLO

In the heart of the Langhe, protected by gentle hills, there are the Cantine dei Marchesi di Barolo, whose history begins more than two centuries ago, more precisely in 1807, when Carlo Tancredi Falletti married the French noblewoman Juliette Colbert di Maulévrier. The latter was the first to understand the potential of the Nebbiolo grape, for which he made magnificent cellars, to allow the complete fermentation and aging in large oak barrels. Taken over at the beginning of the 20th century by Pietro Abbona, the Cantine dei Marchesi di Barolo are now managed by Anna and Ernesto Abbona who, together with their sons Valentina and Davide, stand as faithful interpreters of the diversity of places and native vines, respecting and strictly preserving the typicality, thanks to the vinification of the grapes from their own vineyards and from winegrowers giving selected in so many years of activity. The mission of the Abbona family consists in knowing how to combine "tradition and evolution", proposing in a contemporary key, according to the eno-gastronomic trends of the most authentic and sought after Made in Italy, high quality wines destined to enrich the history of a large winery, in which an important heritage of vineyards, wineries and knowledge has been handed down for more than five generations.
